About Me
I’m Dr. Jennifer Cantor. I’ve dedicated my career to helping people from all walks of life to heal in mind, body and spirit; to strengthen their relationships; to unlock their creative potential; and to make sense of their worlds.
In my younger years, there was deep inquiry. I lived abroad to experience various cultures, to understand first-hand how similar we are despite our apparent differences. I was a Buddhist meditator. I became a clinical psychologist and then a psychoanalyst, completing my training in New York City.
Later I moved to the countryside to live quietly, surrounded by nature. To listen to bird song, to garden, paint and write. To spend time with loved ones. To live peacefully in a world so noisy it’s hard for many people to hear themselves think, much less to find their own authentic voices.
I’ve been in private practice since 2002. It's been my privilege to guide adults of all ages and life stages on their journey of healing and self-discovery. Psychotherapy is a deeply transformative process, but when it’s not feasible, other options are available.
It was in my rural practice that I learned the value of “therapy in small doses.” In one, two, or three sessions, I address a client’s most pressing interpersonal question or concern. I bring my professional therapeutic lens to the conversation, but also, when warranted and welcome, a spiritual and holistic approach to wellness. My clients are free to circle back whenever they’d like to follow up (I’m always glad to hear from them).
My practice is based on teletherapy which allows me to help people beyond my immediate area. I’ve found it to be a successful and intimate method that is convenient and effective for my clients.
